Family Rescue Foundation is non-profit Community Based Organization, registered with Community Development Department, Masaka District in 2005, but founded way back in 2002, as Home Sweet Orphanage, by Mr. Robert Luwalira. In memory of Late Father Declan Otoole, who was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Northern Uganda, on 21st March 2002. Father Declan Otoole was an Irish Priest, serving the Lord with the Mill Hill Missionaries in Uganda.
He is remembered for his love and compassion towards the poor suffering children in Uganda. Through his generosity, Robert Luwalira was among those, he brought from the streets of Kampala. Discovering that, Robert was a visionary man, with a charitable heart towards the poor. He developed interests in him, in that he preached, mentored, educated him, so as to transform him into a devoted and desirable leader, who can help others.
Accepting the obligation to bridge the gap of joy in the lives of orphans and other vulnerable children, Robert took un-compromised values and started with a fundraising towards the helpless children on streets. As the number kept on increasing, Robert decided to establish an orphanage at his born village, a place where HIV/AIDS cases are historically unprecedented, and with indescribable poverty. By the end of 2002, Robert had registered few of the worst suffering orphans, providing their necessities, with food, shelter, and clothing, medical aid on regular basis, using his small income. Today the orphanage accommodates 44 Kids and feeds over 60 orphans and other vulnerable children during day time. And helps 156 in child sponsorship program. See, http://familyrescuefoundation.org

THE CASES FOR AID:
What is very touching is not the quantity of the help or how long it will last, but especially touching the soul intentions, and the spiritual aspect of this giving, it’s this attention and care that is needed especially to these innocent children.
Overwhelming Needs:
Family Rescue Foundation looks forward to help the children who live in conditions of extreme poverty, where feeding and clothing and shelter cannot be afforded.
The needs to these children are extensive, almost most of these children go with old clothes and dirty, hungry, and sick. We try to do anything that can be done to reach out to each out of this misery, The medicine that they need is very expensive, as well as the beds (accommodation facilities), school supplies, clothes – here. Any of these items would make a world of difference to these kids.”
The conditions at the homes of these kids, is a bit sad in that, some kids are raised in this environment, with limited resources. Thus there is need to improve their home conditions, to the elementary level of comfort for the children.” with your support we can construct good houses for them, and give other facilities for better environment.
To demonstrate love these kids, it’s through the quality of the environment we put them in.When the environments have toilets that don’t work, roofs that leaks or when the home smells like urine and feces, the children take that as a reflection about how we care about them. Before we get into the spiritual needs of children living in the poor homes, we need to take care of the physical needs, then we can make an eternal impact on a kid’s life.
We do have education programs (scholarships) to some students enough to get their education but not enough to complete; at least we provide what is necessary for them to grow up as normal people. But a critical time each year we face is a Back to School month. With your donations we hope to make them complete throughout a waiting world.
We do have provision of spiritual programs like training and teaching children about Jesus: That there is a new life by faith, if they will but take it and go with it. We plant seeds in their hearts and hopefully they will take on the new life. But we encounter limited resources carrying out the ministry, like Christian literatures
All your help is very good for our programs, because we need your help for the children to have a better life here in the institution, because they don’t have a very easy life. One of main priorities for children is their ability to function in society after they are released from the orphanages. Child Survival Program: Every day, children under the age of five die from malnutrition and other preventable diseases. You can help us save their lives and set them on the path toward becoming healthy. This program provides little ones with nutritious food supplements, medical care and developmental opportunities during their critical tender years. Leadership Development Program: There's nothing like seeing a young person emerge from poverty, go to college and return home a good citizen. We help identify young men and women who have shown talent and desires, so we stand with them to exploit their potential, in turn, influence their own communities. AIDS Initiative: HIV/AIDS is still at near-epidemic levels in our nations. Your donation to this fund can help break the devastating cycle of this disease and care for people that are often cast out by society, as well as: Fund AIDS awareness programs that help staff, partners and families understand and prevent the disease, care for children who have lost their caregiver to AIDS, and provide treatment and care for people who already have the disease
Community development program: We stand because of our partnership with the community, so with structural development programs, like schools, clinics, colleges for adult education, extension of pure water etc. this gives strengths to our objectives. Partners of Compassion Program: Your gift makes special projects possible that go beyond standard child sponsorship, often providing an extra layer of care that can benefit an entire community. This program regularly helps with: Providing costly, necessary medical supplies, funding hygiene improvements (i.e., clean water tanks/wells and latrines), Providing non-formal education and more!
Disaster Relief: When catastrophe strikes, the Disaster Relief Fund steps in to restore the lives of sponsored children and their families. Disaster can strike anywhere and, when it does, this fund provides: food, blankets, shelter, and replacement belongings.
Provide Treatment for Children's Medical Emergencies: Medical care is both a rarity and extremely expensive in impoverished areas. It's simply hard to stay healthy. Your gift covers urgent, health-related needs for any child registered in the Compassion program. Each year, the program provides treatment for scores of children and restores both health and hope.
